Privato Hair & Beauty - SalonAddict.co.ukWho is your typical customer?

30 – 50 glamorous, healthy ladies.  Very classy, natural looking.

What makes your salon unique?

The salon design is unique, we have a lovely garden for pedicures where customers can sit out on a sunny day.  Also there is our location, and we have a clothes boutique downstairs in the salon.

How would you describe your salon?

Welcoming, Chique, Avant Garde.

Have you ever had any celebrities in the salon?

Of course given our location – Rachel Stevens, Jools Oliver and Helen Fielding to name but a few.

What is your most popular service as the moment?

Highlights, Cut & Blowdry, Manicures and Pedicures.

What is the strangest/funniest customer experience you have had?

I could write a book about that!  We had a very hairy man come in for a full body waxing, I could see the therapist start to panic given that he was wearing shorts and his legs were very hairy.  We quoted him a fair price of £300 which was cheap given the time it would have taken.  Thankfully he decided not to go ahead with it.

What drinks do you serve customers?

Fresh Coffee, Tea, Juice, Wine, Spirits, Red Bull, whatever they want.

Privato Hair & Beauty - SalonAddict.co.uk

What is your top hair care tip?

Use your hands more.  Massage the conditioner into your hair with your hands.  Before you blow dry your hair use your hands to dry it instead of a brush.  This is less mechanical and damaging for your hair.  I have loads more secrets but I am keeping them for our customers.

What sort of Parking facilities do you have?

On Street Parking outside which is free on Saturdays.

What credit cards do you accept?

All major Credit Cards, American Express for purchases over £200.

Best dressed, best hair, best make-up! Everyone loves to talk about the best and worst looks and hairstyles of celebrities during Awards Show Season, and where better than to take a look at one of the biggest and most prestigious events in showbiz – The Oscars! There were a few misses at this year’s Oscars, but overall everyone looked stunning!

These are SalonAddict’s Best Hairstyles of Oscars 2012:

Hairstyles 2012 | Celebrity Hairstyles 2012 | Mila Jovovich

Celebrity Hairstyle No.1 – Mila Jovovich

Mila Jovovich was a knockout with her Retro look – hot red lips, smokey eyes and deeply side-parted retro glam wavy bob hairstyle. Her tousled waves added texture and volume to the bob giving it a nostalgic, ‘old Hollywood’ feel, matching her make-up and dress.

Hairstyles 2012 | Celebrity Hairstyles 2012 | Jessica Chastain

Celebrity Hairstyle No.2 – Jessica Chastain

Redheads always make a statement, and that is exactly what Jessica Chastain did with her Oscar hairstyle. Her subtle strawberry locks were one of our favourite looks for the night, with the half up, half down hairstyle. The strawberry hue colour of her hair also matched her luminescent skin perfectly, making it a very soft and pretty look.

Hairstyles 2012 | Celebrity Hairstyles 2012 | Michelle Williams

Celebrity Hairstyle No.3 – Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams keeps it simple with her sixties style cut, subtle eyes and coral pout to match the dress. Michelle Williams is one of the celebrities leading the short hair trend this year, always managing to stay pretty and feminine.

Hairstyles 2012 | Celebrity Hairstyles 2012 | Rooney Mara

Celebrity Hairstyle No.4 – Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara was a red carpet vixen with her edgy yet contemporary hairstyle, sporting a straight and blunt cut bang.

Her knockout hairstyle highlights her gorgeous cheekbone,  and her jet-black hair creates a striking contrast against her pale skin and white dress.

Hairstyles 2012 | Celebrity Hairstyles 2012 | Angelina Jolie

Celebrity Hairstyle No.5 – Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie looked stunning with her smokey eyes, siren red lips and voluminous, wavy hairstyle. The flecks of gold scattered through her brunette locks create a beautiful shine, highlighting the radiance in her whole face.

Romantic braids and twists are all the rage this year, with models and celebrities alike.

Twists and braids are always a great fall-back hairstyle for Spring and Summer, but 2012 has seen a move to edgier styles with an air of high-fashion twist. It was especially popular on the runway this season, varying from Fendi’s edgy Victorian style twists and braids, Alexander McQueens Beehive braids to the more romantic and fairytale look with Ashish’s side plait or Giorgio Armani’s twisty up-do.

Hairstyles 2012 | Haircuts | Braids & Twists Hairstyles

Apart from being popular on the catwalk, celebrities have adopted the style on and off the red carpet. Whether it’s an Oscar hairstyle or just a day out to the shops, braids and twists make for a versatile hairstyle. Our top 3 celebrity braided/twist  hairstyles are Kristin Cavallari, who looked dreamy with a softly braided hairstyle at the Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week, which can be worn on a casual day out or to a formal do. Berenice Bejo’s intricate yet understated braided hairstyle at The Oscars 2012 was one of our favourites for the night and is great for a formal do. Charlise Theron’s two-part woven low side braid is a classic look and is ideal for a Wedding hairstyle, or even a night out.

Tell us a bit about Hebe

“Hebe has been on the British High Street since the 60′s. There were 30 salons back then when Hebe and its main competitor of the day, Vidal Sassoon did battle on the high streets.  While Sassoon kept on climbing, Hebe decided to turn on the brakes.  In 2003, the original owner Leon Van Geens passed away and the brand was relaunched in 2004. The location on Strand road has been here for 30 years.”
