Want your curls to look their best? If you have soft natural waves or tight ringlets, curly hair can sometimes have a mind of its own! So take care of your curls and follow these top tips.

Going for regular haircuts is key in maintaining the health of your hair.
Sleeping on a satin pillowcase will reduce your frizz as well as keep your curl pattern intact.
Air dry your hair whenever you can. However, if you don’t have time, use a blow dryer with a diffuser, this will dry your hair without disturbing your curls.
Always apply a leave in conditioner, this will minimize frizz and keep your hair feeling soft.
Be careful when towel drying. Squeeze water out instead of rough drying or rubbing with a towel. This friction causes frizz and breaks up your natural curl.
Use a sulphate free shampoo. Sulphates can be drying and damaging to your curls. (Curly hair is naturally drier than other hair types)
Curly hair is a lot more prone to breakage because the hair cuticle is facing in different directions. So brushing curly hair will result in frizz and damage the hair cuticle. Instead comb your hair before you wash the conditioner out with a wide tooth comb.
Wash your hair as little as possible. Shampooing your hair frequently strips your hair from natural oils making it drier and unmanageable.

Having a big voluminous hairstyle is what many women dream of, however sometimes it can be a challenge to achieve that boost of body we all crave. Don’t worry as SalonAddict have put together a few tips to help you get full bodied voluminous hair.

Use specially formulated shampoos and conditioners for adding volume.

Only apply conditioner to the ends of your hair, applying it to your roots will only weigh your hair down and reduce volume.

Avoid heavy conditioners as they coat the hair shaft and weigh it down.

Before you blow dry your hair allow it to air dry for some time and also apply some root lifting spray.

Blow drying your hair upside down will help add volume to the roots and by using your blow dryers concentrator will also bump up the volume.

After blow drying, wrap sections of your hair while it’s still hot into large velcro rollers and allow to cool.

Backcombing will instantly add mega volume. The art of backcombing involves combing the hair in the reverse direction towards the scalp.
